Platformcraft

Aim:
To mine underground for resources and increase your score. Beware – mining using the Pick will expend resources, causing your score to fall. If your score falls below 0, you lose!

Also beware – the ancient mines and barrows beneath your feet are the home to creatures hostile to you. Fight them off with either your Pick or your Spade.

Controls:
Tools:
Press 1 to select the HAND
Press 2 to select the PICK
Press 3 to select the SPADE

WASD uses the active tool in each of the cardinal directions. The HAND is used to pick things up. Once something is picked up, you carry it until you put it down:

Press Q to drop the item to your left.
Press E to drop the item to your right.

The HAND is also used to collect valuables mined from below the surface to add to your score.

Moving:
Arrow keys to move and jump.

Game controls:
If you have exhausted the environment, you can refresh it with the R button. This costs 4000 points, and does not replenish health.
If you want to end it and save your highscore, press BACKSPACE

TIPS:
Be careful – make sure you have a way out, you never know what you might bump into!
Make use of your environment.
Some objects have more than one property.

24/3/11: An attempt to distil some of the magic of Minecraft into a 2D indie platform/puzzler. Taking in a way quite a bit of inspiration from games such as Dig-Dug, it’s looking likely to be very much its own game when I actually finish it.
